Get nmon by downloading it.

We assume you have root access to the machine or a friendly systems administrator to make one small change to the system to allow monitoring.

Use your Web Browser to down load the nmon program....

Once it is down loaded onto your AIX pSeries system, rename the file to nmon and then use the following command at the AIX Shell prompt:

Run nmon using one of the three methods below:

run the nmon command as root
get you administrator to type the following as root: chmod ugo+r /dev/kmem
get you administrator to make nmon a SET UID program.

Next check that the nmon program works!
